Rusty is a healthy adult female without any ailments that would affect the babies.
Health:
- Eyes are clear and bright
- Muscles and bones are strong with no signs of MBD
- Eats well, never refuses food and accepts all kinds of insects as well as plants
- A little bit larger than all other Texas Spinys I have owned or found. Babies may hopefully inherit her genetics for size.
- Rusty does have an old wound on her tail, but that was from external reasons, not genetics or health. She cut herself on something.
Coloration:
- A nice blend of browns over the top of her body, with a white underbelly that includes brown and black speckles
- Bright orange down her back and sides unlike most other Sceloporus olivaceus
- Black stripes running down alongside the orange but in a horizontal pattern in the center of the back
- A black stripe running down her body on either side
Temperament :
- Quite tame and calm, docile
- Has never bitten or hissed
- Allows petting occasionally
- As this is not a domestic species, she can still be skittish sometimes. But not to the extent of other spinys I have had.
- Rusty has been the most calm and friendliest spiny lizard I have owned
